This project is deeply personal to me and something I am very passionate about, The Canary Islands are often miss-represented as being “England in the sun” having grown up there I feel very deeply that this is not the case. The Canary Islands are beautiful, alive and full of culture and history. The people there are welcoming and accepting of others, they don’t judge you based on where you are from or what you look like. Those of us that have grown up there see these beautiful islands as home, family, friends, our childhoods, this piece is designed to show the audience a little bit of the Canaries history, culture and the significance of them for those that are from there.
